Aribel Leon Parris is originally from Colon, Panama.  The capital city, Panama, was Ms. Leon Parris' residence until her move with her parents to Fort Riley, Kansas.  Aribel holds a Master's Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Kansas; Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish Literature from Kansas State University; additional studies in International Studies and Italian; Associate Degrees in Building Trades, Computer-Aided Drafting, and Drafting Technology from the Manhattan Area Technical College. Aribel is multi-lingual: fluent in English and Spanish with knowledge of a third language, Italian. 

Ms. Leon Parris has diverse work and volunteer experience.  Aribel worked as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children (C.A.S.A) volunteer in Kansas City, Missouri.  She has also extended her time at Hope Ranch Therapeutic Center, Inc. in Manhattan, Kansas, as well as serves as a volunteer at Via Christi Village.

After Ms. Leon Parris' breast cancer diagnosis, she combined treatments and healing with painting as well as her poetry. Her paintings have operated under the umbrella of Breast Cancer Survivor's Footprints.
